Evert den Hartog (Groot-Ammers, 1949) trained at the Rotterdam Academy of Fine Arts. From 1971 to 1976, he studied there with Arie Teeuwisse and Bram Roth. In the first years after his studies, he primarily created ceramic works until he decided to cast his own sculptures in bronze. His regular subjects are people and animals, in many variations. Birds and bulls, in particular, are animals that frequently appear in his work. His daughter Eline served as the model for the Ballerina flat shoesseries. Various works of art by Den Hartog can be found in Rotterdam. His works of art can also be found in Amsterdam, The Hague and Venlo, as well as in Belgium, Indonesia, Japan and America.
