About the artwork

This piece of art represents a steak that is cut through by a large steel knife. The steak is made of ceramic, the knife is made of stainless steel. The title of this artwork is Intersection and was made by artist Frans Hage. The sculpture refers to the history of the district. It stands opposite the place where the abattoir used to be and serves as a monument to all Crooswijkers who worked in the slaughterhouse. The slaughterhouse and a number of houses were demolished in the late XNUMXs. People in Crooswijk do not speak of steak, but of pork chops. Intersection has been realized by the urban renewal fund in Crooswijk.
