About the artwork

The association of owners of the Regina residential building at the intersection of Spoorsingel and Stationssingel have been working for years to specialize the façade of their building. The result is the art application Windows from Leontien Wiehink. Windows connects the facade of the residential building with the north facade of Central Station and the redevelopment plan of Proveniersplein. All three refer to the origins of the neighborhood at the end of the 19 century. Stainless steel strips are attached to both sides of the building, which together represent two large vertical windows. The Windows are shown in perspective; when you walk from the station, you see the windows in perspective. CBK Rotterdam supervised Wiehink's sketching phase and acted as co-financier. The work was made possible with contributions from the Noord Area Committee and Havensteder. Windows was unveiled on Saturday 13 October 2018.
