Birds Unfamiliar

On the Toscalaan 796 in Hoogvliet is a wastewater pumping station of the municipality of Rotterdam. During the construction of this pumping station, an order was issued in the percentage scheme for making a facade relief. It is unknown to us who produced this concrete relief and in what year. The relief is located next to the entrance to the pumping station. It is made of various types of concrete. There are two bird shapes and a circle can be seen at the bottom left. Possibly a representation of birds in the sky with a sun. The tableau is divided into three by two vertical lines. It was made in the visual language of the 1960s, from the reconstruction period in Rotterdam.
