Carel Visser's 'Mother and child' temporarily removed

In the night from Wednesday 10 October to Thursday 11 October are some parts of the artwork Mother and child (2001) stolen from sculptor Carel Visser. It concerns some horizontal parts, the 'guard', and parts of the top. A report has been made and the theft is being investigated further. In connection with the repair work, the image is temporarily removed from the sculpture terrace on the Westersingel. It is still unknown how long the restoration of the statue will take.
