We cordially invite you to the fourth edition of the MidWinterScheepsHoornConcert that takes place on Friday December 13, 2019 at 19.00:XNUMX PM. This time in and around the Bierhaven and the Jufferkade in Rotterdam.

In many cultures, the winter solstice, the moment when a long period of darkness turns around and the days get longer, has been celebrated since time immemorial. In Rotterdam we do this in our own way prior to the winter solstice with a unique, free concert and mulled wine in the Maritime District. Midwinter hornblowers from the Achterhoek, together with ship's horns from the Bierhaven, accompanied by horns from the Rotterdam Symphonic Wind Orchestra and hornist Anja Elzinga will perform a piece of music by composer Massimiliano Dosoli. An animation film by Nina Markus will be shown in the gate from the Glashaven to the Jufferkade.

The concert will be opened at around 19.00 hours by Daniël Bouw, Center Area Committee member and head of marketing and communication at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.

Thanks to: Massimiliano Dosoli, Midwinter horn bloazers 't Slat, Frans van der Horst, Codarts, Rotterdam Heritage Ports, residents' association Leuvekwartier and all residents around the Bierhaven, members of the Rotterdam Symphonic Wind Orchestra, horn player Anja Elzinga, Van Otterloo Wijn and the skippers of the Damsterdiep, Festina Lente, Bambi, Polaris and the Dieu Donné.
