We are pleased to invite you to the unveiling of the artwork Clouds on Wednesday, November 27. The bronze statue Clouds van Romijn (1922-2010) is festively unveiled by councilor Buitenruimte Bert Wijbenga at the Dr. Molewaterplein in Rotterdam. The work was made in 1965 and donated to the Daniël den Hoed clinic by NV Meelfabrieken der Nederlandse Bakkerij ('Meneba') on the occasion of the company's 50 anniversary. With the recent move from the clinic to Erasmus MC, it was decided to move the statue along. The public space around the Erasmus MC will also be celebrated on this day.

Siebe Thissen (head of BKOR) and Iris van der Lee (project leader municipality of Rotterdam) welcome you warmly. Alderman Bert Wijbenga provides an explanation of the recent development of the Erasmus MC area.

Festive unveiling of the image Clouds by alderman Wijbenga and artists Woody 's Gravemade and Fabian Bredt.

16.45 hour Erasmus MC (Zimmermanweg entrance)
Afterwards we invite you for a drink at the Erasmus MC. Sandra Smets (art historian) explains the image in relation to the oeuvre of Gust Romijn. Finally, attention is paid to a painting by Gust Romijn that was recently donated to Erasmus MC by his widow.

The relocation of Clouds is an initiative of BKOR and Erasmus MC and was created in collaboration with landscape architects Juurlink (+) Geluk and the municipality of Rotterdam. The statue is the property of Erasmus MC. The implementation is in the hands of MeestersIn and Binder Art Services. Thanks to Marianne Kleijwegt.
