Peter Hopman (Johannesburg, 1968) studied at the ArtEZ School of the Arts in Arnhem, where he graduated with honors in 1995. Hopman started as a product designer after his studies, but soon saw the immense space around the products and around the people for whom they are intended. A characteristic of Hopman's work is that there is no fixed starting point, everything is open. At every stage of a process, people are the touchstone, with their behavior and idiosyncrasies, their experiences and sensations. In 1997 he founded Bureau Lakenvelder. He is involved in various design disciplines ranging from product design, interior architecture and architecture. Peter Hopman lives and works in Rotterdam.
