About the artwork

This sculpture with the title For you my love (c) was purchased by Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and is located to the left of the entrance to the museum. It is exemplary for the spatial work of Hulya Yilmaz, in which she combines heaviness and lightness. In her installations she combines soft and delicate materials (textiles) with powerful shapes. This image also has this robustness with its dark color. In the bronze skin you can see the weave of her working materials, so that here too an organic and more vulnerable skin appears to be present. The work is about symmetry, shape, mass, with sources of inspiration from biology. This autonomous sculpture fits well with the entrance of the museum. Due to the renovation of the museum, the artwork has been temporarily placed in a depot.
