Waterdiabolo (1990) Hans van Lunteren
This plastic is called Waterdiabolo, like the well-known toys, but looks a lot more serious than that. It is a large and robust water sculpture, but it also has some very stylized basic forms of old architecture, with its plinth and facade crowning. Water flows inside the sculpture. The image creates a water-rich 'home' for moss and algae growth. More than ten years after this work, Hans van Lunteren would design another underground fountain for Kralingen, namely the artwork Sunken fountain.
