About the artwork

Visual artist Lilian Roosenboom made this large round sphere in 2002 for the Pijnackerplein. The organic form is partly sunk into the floor. The sphere lay in full sun between the playground equipment on the square and had to move due to the redevelopment of the square. The bronze sculpture was placed in the Roel Langerak Park, but that was also temporary. Now the sphere, which has a linear and circular structure on the surface, lies in the grass under the trees on the Noorderhavenkade.
