Unfortunately, we are forced to cancel the manifestation image echoes, scheduled for 2023. BKOR and SIR invited artist and curator David Bade (Willemstad, Curaçao, 1970) to respond with other artists to the public space collection of images from Rotterdam Central, along the Westersingel to the Westzeedijk. The main reason for the postponement is the financing of the event; a number of funds had indicated that they would like to receive more concrete guidelines for the assessment. An important feature of Image echoes however, is the process-oriented nature of the invited artists, as a result of which little insight can be provided at this initial stage.
In consultation with curator David Bade, it has therefore been decided to postpone the entire event to early 2024. This gives us, the curator and the participating artists the space to continue with the process, so that the necessary concretization can take place. The artists who Image echoes will contribute: Caroline Coolen (BE), Femmy Otten (NL), Roxette Capriles (NL), Lydia Schouten (NL), Yaïr Callender (NL), Tirzo Martha (NL), Honoré δ'O (BE) and Xenson ( UG).
