About the artwork
Artist Kees Timmer has had several assignments in Rotterdam. This work is a play plastic, designed for this schoolyard. It is part of a long series of school plastics, which was completed in the XNUMXs and XNUMXs in residential areas in the then expanding Rotterdam. But in that series of 'school art' this one takes Dog van Timmer has its own place, because it is a nice, sweet and funny image. Timmer had a preference for animals. He has the Dog rendered stylized by dividing it into shapes and lines, which follow their own path independently of the performance.
